McCormick Tribune YMCA Fit Family Nights

 

All family nights will deliver a consistent message of healthy lifestyles including physical activity and healthy eating. Monthly activities are developed to encourage participation of all family members, with a focus on children, showing easy and fun ways to incorporate daily movement and healthy snacks.

 

Monthly events will be offered on a Friday evening, free of charge, to all families in the community.

 

March 20, 2009: “Mad about Hoops” -
Family games, basket ball shoot-outs, relays w/b-balls

 

April 24, 2009: Healthy Kids Day -

Children’s health fair, fit classes and activities.

 

May 22, 2009: Growing Healthy Families -Making Herb Gardens
Home Depot, community garden folks, craft

 

June 26, 2009: Let’s Fly a Kite -
Kite making and flying lesson

Farmer's Market

The first Tuesday of every month, a FREE Farmer’s Market is held at the McCormick Tribune YMCA. In collaboration with the Greater Chicago Food Depository Fresh Produce Mobile we distribute free fruits and vegetables to community families and individuals in need.

 

Line Numbers are distributed at 7:00 AM on a first-come-first-served basis and distribution begins at 10:30 am until supplies last. (You must be present when your number is called in order to secure the numbered place in line.)

 

Recipients must be 18 or older and are limited to one person per household. No proof of income is needed, only a signature is required.
